Skin Needling, also know as Microneedling or Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), is an amazing treatment simple in concept but yielding incredible results.
We use the derma CIT pen that utilises twelve very fine, medical grade, 100% sterile, stainless steel needles in a patented disposable cartridge. These needles vertically penetrate the skin at a high speed.
This controlled stimulation of your skin’s natural wound healing response inspires skin rejuvenation and repair – which is extremely important when treating pigmentation, ageing, scarring, stretch marks, enlarged pores and promoting overall great skin health.
Promote the production of your own natural collagen to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and achieve overall skin rejuvenation.

Before You Book
Skin Needling can be performed on almost anyone however, there may be times when we need to overcome certain contraindications prior to performing the treatment; or prepare the skin more adequately to ensure the healing process and results are optimal and efficient.
We work with you from the ground up – rebuilding and strengthening your skin.
Please book in for a skin consultation so we can discuss your options and attempt to overcome any issues that may present.
Results don’t come from injury, they come from healing.
If your skin is already in a bad state and struggling to heal itself, then Skin Needling isn’t going to correct that issue. It simply adds insult to injury!
Almost always required, this is to ensure you get the best results possible. We don’t want the treatment to be ‘just ok’ – we want to be ‘excellent’.
This process will be very straightforward and simple for some but may be a little more in-depth for others. We work with you to ensure a safe and effective treatment.
Without preparation, you’re setting your skin up to fail. The healing process may be much slower, more painful and overall, results will not be optimal.
Please book in for a Skin Consultation to discuss your options.
Frequently Asked Questions
Although Skin Needling is suitable for most clients, there are many contraindications we need to consider and may need to overcome prior to the treatment being performed.
We recommend you book in for a skin consultation or drop into the clinic and speak to us. We can discuss any concerns you may have and workout a plan moving forward.
In the case of skin needling, less is more commonly, the best!
New collagen forms no deeper than 0.6mm regardless of the depth of injury. So if you’re receiving skin needling for anti-aging benefits, going much deeper than 0.6mm is only going to make the process more time consuming and painful.
The only reason you would go beyond 0.6mm is to help break down scarring, such as that associated with acne. In this case, it’s a progressive approach and should be done with caution and in conjunction with supportive skincare (those that do not contain harsh scrubs, acids or ablative ingredients).
Whilst everyone’s tolerance for pain is different, the simple answer is quite simply no, it doesn’t hurt!
This is not what you might imagine when you read about needles piercing the skin’s surface at a high speed but the precision of the derma CIT pen means that your treatments are comfortable and highly effective while pain is kept to a minimum.
Generally, anywhere from 3-6 treatments will get you great results – but that’s a rough guide only.
It will vary from one client to another depending on the skin condition and concern being treated.
Factors such as preparation time and your consistency with post care and follow up treatments will all contribute to the end result.
We will be here to guide you through the entire process.
With someone else, potentially. With us, no!
Without adequate consultation and preparation, skin needling becomes a ‘quick-fix’ treatment. There is a greater risk of delayed healing, lack of results and quite simply a waste of your time and money.
We have a duty of care to fulfil. Any clinic that is prepared to perform such a treatment so carelessly without correct preparation shouldn’t be performing it at all.
No, topical anaesthetic is not used and we strongly advise against it.
Not only can anaesthetic counter the effectiveness of the treatment, but it can have some serious side effects. Anaesthetic toxicity is one issue, but the potential for allergic reactions is perhaps a greater concern.
While the chance of allergic reactions are low, the risks outweigh the rewards.
Besides, with good preparation, pain (which there is minimal of anyway) is reduced further.
Some clients can start to see and feel results after a few weeks. The treatment is cumulative – so each one builds on the success of the previous one.
Pre and post care is vital to the end result.
One of the most exciting things about skin needling is that your results will continue to improve over the next 12 months as the new collagen and elastin settles, strengthens and rejuvenates your skin from within.
We can treat most areas including the face, neck, décolletage, hands, stomach, legs and arms.
